Fake Rahm Emanuel tweeter lands book deal

The Twitter parody of Rahm Emanuel’s Chicago mayoral campaign Rosetta Stone Software
that captivated readers with its profanity-laced imaginary universe is coming to a bookstore near you this summer. Dan Sinker, the Chicago journalism professor behind the @MayorEmanuel account, has inked a deal with Scribner to publish The F—-ing Epic Twitter Quest of @MayorEmanuel, the publisher announced Friday. The book will compile the tweets, annotate them, and include Sinker’s first-person account of the phenomenon that has attracted legions of followers and media attention, the publisher said in a news release. by the deal. In nearly 2,000 tweets, @MayorEmanuel channeled the profane subconscious of the former congressman and White House chief of staff as he ran his successful, maximally inoffensive campaign. The account went dark after Emanuel won the election, with the @MayorEmanuel character fading into a parallel dimension. A few days later, Sinker revealed himself as the man behind the fantastic narrative. on his behalf and has been interviewed on The Colbert Report. Sinker teaches at Chicago’s Columbia College and is the founder of the defunct Punk Planet zine.
