Robert Pattinson on Weddings: The Bride Is All That Counts

Shooting the wedding scene for Breaking Dawn – Part 1 made Kristen Stewart nervous and Robert Pattinson aware of how secondary the husband is. "The groom's role in a wedding ... is just a prop," the actor, 24, said at a press event for the film, which opens Nov. 18. "Even playing the part, you kind of realize [that]. I mean, it's such a clear indication whose day it is when you're standing on one end of the aisle and the entire congregation is on the other, and you're in the same suit as every other guy." The groom's insignificance, as it were, even seeps into the planning, insists Pattinson. "Any guy who tries to get involved in organizing a wedding or even has an opinion of what a wedding should be, then they're kind of ridiculous. Cheap Ugg Boots It's whatever your wife decides to do," he added with a laugh. While Pattinson made clear he wouldn't mind having a fancy real-life wedding of his own, he does have one condition: "I just don't want to have to wear a silly outfit." As for what caused Stewart, 21, such anxiety about shooting the wedding scene – which is with her real-life beau, Pattinson – she said, "I had a million different things going on in my head. What I kept telling myself was, Stop, stop, stop. Like, just do it. Actually, have this experience because you're just about to ruin it. ... I needed to just put the dress on and go and stand there and walk and see [Robert] and everyone." Director Bill Condon said the on-set chemistry between Stewart and Pattinson was palpable "right away." "It's crazy just how close they are," he told PEOPLE. "It's wonderful and ... I feel as though because they're more relaxed with that, it added something to the movie, too. Because obviously this is the part where they are together, and that's something they didn't have to act."
